Have you ever crossed the line between beautiful natural tan and the dreaded orange fake tan?
It can happen to the best of us but if you want to avoid the orange fake tan the best way is to choose a product with the right level of active tanning ingredient (DHA) for your skin type.
One of the main reasons for an orange fake tan is an excessive buildup of DHA in the top layer of the skin. If you apply fake tan regularly or you use a product that has too high a concentration for your skin, the level of DHA can cause your tan to turn orange.
When choosing a fake tan we recommend that you opt for a shade that compliments your skin tone, if you are fair skinned and only tan lightly or burn easily in the sun then opt for a fair to medium tanning product. The new Sunkissed Gradual Tanning Lotion in Light Bronze is perfect for fair skins. One application will give you a beautiful sunkissed glow to your skin; add an extra application for a deeper natural bronzed colour that will suit your skin perfectly.
Rocking the beautiful natural Sunkissed glow this year is:
If you go lovely golden brown in the sun we recommend the Sunkissed Instant Self-Tanning Mousse in Medium Bronze. The instant colour will give you a natural bronzed look whilst average levels of DHA will turn the skin a golden bronze colour within 2-4 hours of application. To maintain the beautifully golden bronze tan we recommend topping up with the Sunkissed Gradual Tanning Lotion in Light Bronze 2-3 times a week. This rich moisturising formula will keep your skin beautifully soft and hydrated and the lower level of DHA will ensure your tan remains natural and golden without going tangy orange!
For all you lucky people with Olive skin or darker we recommend our Sunkissed Instant Self-Tanning Mousse in Dark Bronze. Your skin will be able to absorb higher levels of DHA without turning it citrus orange. Keep your skin and your tan beautifully maintained by applying the Sunkissed Gradual Tanning Lotion in Medium Bronze. The Shea Butter and Vitamin E will keep your skin in tip top condition and your tan deep bronzed and gorgeous.
If your tan does stray to an orange hue the easiest way to get rid is to stop applying fake tan for a few days and just use moisturiser instead. Exfoliate to remove the dead skin cells and orange colour and once your skin is cleansed of DHA you can start tanning again, remembering not to overload your skin!
